Multi-fuel Trangia goodness.

If you have a Nova or one of the BRS Chinese clones; and a Trangia 25 or 27, this allows you to get the two to operate together. It will also fit the Bulin T4 remote gas burner.Seems expensive for a couple of bits of pressed steel, but remember, a Trangia is for life; and this extends its working capabilities. Much better than using a honey jar lid and expansion plate blanks.

Old fashioned reliable stove

The trangia is a meths (methanol) burning stove. While meths is a little slower than gas it has much better cold temperature performance (it can still be a harder/slow to get going at temperatures around freezing or below but it *does* go, unlike gas).The 25 is marketed as a "3 or 4 person" stove (in contrast to the 27 whcih is a "1 or 2 person" stove). However the 2 saucepans on the 25 are 1.5 Litre and 1.75 Litre. I use the 25 for myself and, given that it's a single burner you tend to end up with everything in the one saucepan I can easily fill the 1.75 L saucepan (any more and you'd risk spilling when you stir) with just a good evening meal for myself.The frying pan doubles as a saucepan lid and the kettle is also included in the 25-6 (although the kettle is not non-stick you really shouldn't be heating anything other than water in it and if your water is sticky you've got bigger problems than cleaning the kettle!)The non-stick of the 6UL works well although like all non-stick you have to be careful not to scratch it.While meths stoves are considered by some to be slow and with limited flame control (there is a 'simmer ring' which provides some adjustment) it has the advantage of no moving parts, nothing to clog or jam, no fine threads that have to match and could clog with dirt. This makes it almost unbreakable which is the relaibility you need when camping away from civilisation when you *need* to be able to rely on your stove.

...consistently excellent, for years

This is my 3rd Trangia - I have had two smaller 27s which I have used since I started trekking and camping over 20 years ago...they have both stood up well and now one has been retired after heavyweight use. I now have a family and wanted a new stove for more planned trips where frankly weight & size are less of an issue. But, after looking at lots of gas stoves in outdoor stores, came back to the Trangia (non stick). I remain delighted - it's easy to fire up; never gets affected by win or rain, gets up to temperature easily and one full burner lasts for over 45 minutes giving you time enough to cook most things. Compared with other stoves, it may not be a looker, but given its fantastic useability and practicality, it's a triumph of substance over style.

Fantastic ! The BEST kit for cooking when your camping

The trangia is compact, lighweight and easy to use. With no gas bottles, it is convenient as the fuel is sold everywhere (its just methylated spirits), and lasts ages. Very economical.Boiling the kettle is super speedy, cooking is easy. You can easily prepare a good meal with very little effort and in short time.This was the star of our recent camping holiday and I simply couldn't recommend it highly enough!

anyone who has ever cooked on a trangia will know that the burnt food patch at the bottom of any of the pans is impossible to avoid. In fact, the only time you dont see it is when the set is brand new.Well, I think trangia should make non stick coating for all their new sets. I couldn't believe how much better my cooking was when I replaced my old pans with the non-stick variety. I actually cook on my trangia as if I was at home using my hob. Not done a boil in the bag for months now.The downside is, if you have some nifty titanium cutlery, or any metal cutlery for that matter, you will scratch off the non-stick coating faster than you can think 'darn it!' This also means that these pans need a little more looking after than the bog standard aluminium ones. But not having constantly burnt food, and being able to wash up faster than a cat flicks its tail more than makes up for it.

We went camping (2 persons) with a tent and a car and a stove and this cooking set. Cooked mostly in the evening and use it too in the morning - sometimes for food and but daily for our coffee rounds. A gem! Warms up quickly, appropriate for most food we cooked(fried noodles, risotto, scrambled eggs etc) and enough saucepans to go round without having to rewash to cook again. Easy to clean and lightweight. Doesn't take up much room and love the kettle (non-dripping and the plastic bits keeps the heat off). The handle is also very sturdy and doesn't get hot at the end away from the saucepan which is usefuly. Overall, highly recommended. This product doesn't have a cover to keep them together however it is all compact in one (ie stacking them all together and closed it with the lid which also act as a frying pan. So you don't really need one.

Good value set, tough enough for open-fire cooking

Used for a backpacking weekend (2 of us) and this set was just right. I was concerned that the pots wouldn't be able to withstand the campfire, but they did the trick. One problem: the kettle handle doesn't easily fit inside the kettle. To make best use of the set, buy a strap to hold it together and wrap the pot handle inside in a towel to stop it rattling when carrying it.

does the job

only used on one trip so far but seems ok for occasional camp use. The campingaz stove didn't harm the pans, gripper worked, frying pan didn't stick, kettle a good size for 2-3 cups of coffee. Good value kit for light use.

I have used Trangia stoves for nearly thirty years and can say that they are trustworthy, reliable and very easy to use. I prefer them to all the multi-fuel and and gas stoves I have used over the years. With my Trangia stoves the food is usually cooking while other people are still pumping fuel bottles or unclogging jets. In the past I have occasionally travelled very lightweight with just the Trangia burner and found rocks or something else to balance my pot on over the flame, but this is really not to be recommended as the distance between the burner and pot is quite critial for maximum efficiency. Also, the burner unit works better when held slightly off the ground by a proper stove. The new Trangia Triangle that I have just bought is absolutly perfect as a camping stove. It is ultra compact, lightweight and stable. I can use pots of different sizes, both larger and smaller than the ones that fit in the larger Trangia stove. In future I will take the Trangia Triangle on both long and short trips with a Titanium pot for my perfect lightweight cooking system. My stove handles light winds reasonably well and certainly better than stoves without a windshield, but some folded aluminum foil really speeds things along in a breeze and adds almost no weight to the kit. A tip, especially when it is very cold: do not put too much fuel in the Trangia burner as it slows down the time it takes for the flame to reach maximum heat. I cannot recommend the Trangia Triangle highly enough.

trangia wind shield/stand

I bought this initially because i sometimes cook up in my berlingo multi space and want a stand to raise the meths stove off the floor as it has a vinyl type floor covering and i didnt want to melt it. Its a great piece of kit for the rucksack as well due to not taking up hardly room. as a wind shield as well its a added bonus.

Trangia 27 non-stick cookset with gas burner

The 27 range of cooksets from Trangia are lightweight and very compact, everything fitting inside one another. On this model, the gas burner fits inside the pans when packed (in it's own bag to protect the non-stick) - this is where the kettle would normally go. The non-stick coating is of very good quality which should make for easier cleaning. The one litre pans and the 8 inch fry pan are adequate for one person, which makes this the ideal set for someone looking for the lighter option. The only extras you'll need are cutlery and a canister of gas.

Got our toy just now:-)It was delivered within 4days from Amazon UK! It is almost same as usual as ordering to Amazon Japan! So happy now :)))))) Especially this model hasn't been sold in Japan yet, so ... GREAT!! Can't wait to use it tomorrow in a mountain. I really hope that Trangia would sell their products more in Japan with same or similar prices in EU in the near future.

A very nice, small cook set for 1 or 2 people

A very nice, small cook set for 1 or 2 people when you need to save on space and weight. The cook set runs on Esbit fuel tablets (Hexie), alcohol or small wood shavings if you run out of the others! I have not tried it yet but it does look like you can also use Bio fuel?A boil-in-the-bag (you can just fit 2 bags in there) takes around 10 - 12 minutes with alcohol, as long as you can shield it from the wind!Tip:If you use a heat mat, (I stole mine from the wife) to cook on, in your tent(alcohol/spirit ONLY - NO HEXIE INSIDE YOUR TENT), you can stay warm and dry in your tent with this cooker.I would have been happier if:1. The pots where made from Stainless Steel2. It also had another small bag for the cooker, as its fits inside the pots (to keep the pots clean)These are very small points, as I am never happy!

After reading some of the other reviews I thought, I don't really need the Flame Adjuster & to be honest, I also thought the price was too good to be true! But when it arrived, I found that it wasn't the Flame Adjuster that was missing, but the Alcohol Burner itself!! For this model, you have to buy both the Burner & Adjuster, as separate items!!! I'm now thinking of just getting a standard Trangia Burner, as it fits it as well or maybe the Trangia Triangle instead.

This is the Stand unit not the Flame Adjuster unit

Contrary to the item description and an earlier review this item is the Tatonka Stand NOT the Flame Adjuster unitAnd, as such, it does an excellent job. The standard Trangia meths burner (as well as the Tatonka burner) slots into this perfectlyThe stand loses a star because if you try and pick up an assembled stand the legs drop off as there's no way that can see of locking them in placeYou'd definitely need to buy or knock up some kind of windshield if you plan to use it outdoorsAnd if you want to go really cheap and really lightweight you could can make a DIY stand out of three decent sized nails placed into a Trangia or Tatonka burner

Dispite the title you don't get a flame adjuster with the stand(though I had figured it wasn't included so wasn't upset when it turned up on it's own.) >>> Tatonka Stainless Steel Flame AdjusterIt's nice and easy to set up though one of the legs is quite tight to get in as they have welded the bracket for it over the join in the main body ring. I suppose this gives the ring joint a bit more strength.The stand was a bit too big for my burner (Highlander brand) so it would not quite sit level, but a bit of squashing on the sides got into a shape that held the burner level.All in all, well worth spending a bit less than £6.00 on.
