Excellent - bags of capacity and rain cover very handy

This is quite simply the best rucksack I've had. The straps are padded and adjustable , there is a belt strap to hold it in place for running. There are pads on the base and side to cushion the rucksack against the lumbar region and to encourage air flow as wellIt has one main compartment with a zipped inner pocket , a smaller external zipped one and two external pouches which I found handy for ipods and keysIts a bit heavier than the usual rucksack but I've found it very comfortable to wear for extended periodsThe best part for those rainy Wales mornings is the plastic rain cover that is built into the rucksack and unzipped from the bottom of the rucksack - this works wellA neat piece of kit and one I use every day now

Very impressive, professional implementation

I was struck by the professional finish upon inspection after receipt. Not a stitch out of place with all the fastenings and padding that marked a superior looking product. I was particularly amazed at finding a zip at the bottom and pulling out the rain cover.At first heft I was struck by the rigid back and the weight of the product (1.5kg)compared to the fairly light material. The back is reinforced by a thick plastic board as well as a metal road an inch wide that slides into its individual compartment in the middle of the back. Both are removable. The road is contoured to support the lumbar arch and cleverly positioned so that the back padding never allows you to feel it. Indeed wearing the bag is comfortable (up to three quarter load- the heaviest I had it)Some interesting observations:First impression: the angle of the main zip; the shape and lie of the base gives the overall shape of a wedge. It might not mean much until the setting of the bag down with the plastic board insert- the shape doesn't fit with the upright impression from the pictures provided on the product page.1) Zippered compartments: Main, front, inside, base (rain cover)2) Velcroed compartment for plastic board (I'd keep papers/documents/passport in here) as well as the narrowed one for the metal rod.3) Two side mesh pockets with tight elastic but no other method of securing (would have preferred a similar elastic closure system like the one used to fasten the sleeping bag.4) Rope in loops for sleeping bag above front zipper. More impressively the loops for trekking poles are attached to "fins" of fabric that are separate from the front compartment instead of arising from the respective cover.5) Plenty of adjustability of all straps.I am slightly flummoxed by the fingerhole covered by the black band marked Rio which allows direct access into the internal compartment. I wonder if it gives a path for air to pass to facilitate "squashing to compress".I think this is a step up from entry level stuff you can get at department stores and more than comparable to the offerings from more established brands. Mine didn't come with instructions which would have saved some admittedly gleeful exploration. (The picture on the product page of the bag at load is helpful)I would certainly recommend it to all.
