Not a prepper but considerer that because my flat only has gas for central heating, should there be a power cut with reduced electrical production, I would need to have something to cook on.

Great stove, recommended.

This is a great little stove, it is blatantly a copy of the MSR Rocket but slightly heavier and slightly cheaper. It fires up with a very satisfying noise and boils water very quickly.The one downside I would list is the storage container they have included a four sided plastic case which requires some force to place and remove the stove whereas the MSR comes with a similar case but it is three sided and the stove slots right in.

At first I was a bit nervous to buy this product because I thought it wasn't thick and soft enough to use it as guest bed.The inflation process is relatively quick as well as the deflating time.First time in use it was really good to sleep on it.

I've previously used an air bed when camping which has involved insulating under, and on top of, it with various blankets as the cold comes up through it. I've been told by a number of people about self inflating mats being as comfortable and much warmer so thought I'd give it a go. After some research I ordered this mat because it was wider and longer than most, and a choice of depths, and very much cheaper than most. Delivery was very speedy. It is nice and light, and compact when rolled up. Removing the air and rolling it up afterwards was easy too. It is suprisingly comfy for something so thin, and being able to blow some extra air in makes it even more so. I've only been able to try it out briefly in the tent (pratice run of putting the tent up in the garden on slate gravel), and it seemed to do the job well. I've not actualy slept on it yet but think that it is going to work really well. Also not having to take a pump, and not having to spend ages pumping up an air bed is going to be a bonus! Roll on Festival time.

The Generous Sleeping Mat

None Cheaper for the Dimensions and Quality. This is perfect for my needs and I envisage some comfy nights to follow. If your watching your pennies but don't want something of inferior quality/build then you should give this some consideration. As I'm a mover when in slumber-land I didn't want to nod off with that feeling of having to do 'a balancing act' to stay on the Mat as most seem to experience with the shorter Mats!I got the thinnest one for issues of weight & on most occasions I'll be throwing this into my hammock - perfect fit. I suspect there's a fair bit of insulation offered here too with its foam filling. Having surveyed my purchase closely I think I can say this is just the ticket, for me, and it didn't break the BankBTW I'm 6' 14st.

Good little bag, fits the trangia in fine with a bit of room, i put some utensils in there as well to keep it all together. Best thing is it prevents any residue from fuel getting everywhere in your pack if it can't be cleaned straight away.

Great value portable loo. Just buy some normal pine fresh disinfectant and put in a few cap fulls after every sitting. If you are camping 2 sittings is the max you want to do before emptying. If you use a nice pine scented disinfectant and 2-3 litres of water it gives off no smell and is surprisingly comfortable when seated, great product!

A camping must have!!

I bought this for our camping trip this year as we have 4 small children, and night time treks to the toilet block can be a pain with 4 little ones! I am so pleased we bought this, it was easy to use, no spillage when transporting to waste disposal as it comes with a handy lid for the internal bucket, easy to clean. And you can even buy a little cover to go over it when it is not being used. Very handy, very practical and suitable for both children and adults. A must have for all camping trips!!

When my family decided on going camping,I insisted on having a portable loo, the thought of trailing to the facilities in the middle of the night - no way! Best £18 spent, since it rained frequently at night, to get up and get soaked would have been an extremely unpleasant experience. We used it all the time and found it to be a versatile asset, even when my daughter had car sickness on the way home. It has already been borrowed by friends for childrens' camping party in the garden. Well worth it.

Best for camping

Used this daily for camping for 2 weeks so really put it through its paces. Emptied almost 4 bottles in this time.Grill part coped well with toast, kebabs, steaks, sausages, searing veg, fish (cooked on foil) etc. which worked just like a bbq. Some uneven hot spots. As the instructions state NOT to use a pan of any sorts on this side we could really have done with the flat plate (available in the US I believe) in addition to the slotted grill so that we could cook bacon, eggs, veg etc.Gas ring is quite small so would struggle to accommodate pans over 20cm diameter.No problems in wind, new bottles easy to fit. Below grill area is best fitted with fresh foil regularly to keep cleaning to a minimum. Fat drain with collection tray is excellent. Idiot-proof to use & packs up neatly.Only gripe is that the bottle is held in position behind the stove, thus off the edge of our folding cooker table!

Almost perfect.

I bought this stove for camping and the occasional barbecue, it is great for both. I usually camp alone with my dog, and had one of those cheap single burner stoves, but (after being inspired by that campervan bloke cooking on telly!) I decided to get something better.I searched around for days online, weighing up all the pros and cons and then went to my local camping showroom, seeing the stoves I'd been contemplating in the flesh. It seems that other than Coleman's stoves, you're fairly limited if (like me) you don't want to carry a large metal gas bottle around. I really wanted one of those with two burners and a grill below, and decided this was going to be the best compromise, so ordered one from Amazon.I shouldn't have worried. All the Coleman products I own (I have a tent, chair and sleeping bag) are of the highest quality and this stove is no exception. It looks and feels very sturdy (it's bigger than it looks in the photo -- about the size of two single burners in their cases), and the grill plate is nice and hefty. It all packs away very neatly, and doesn't need a case as the blue-metal cover protects everything. Once the bottle is connected (so easy to do I didn't need to read the instructions), the flames that spark up are very powerful, like a gas hob at home rather than the weak flames I was used to on my single burner stove.Cooking some burgers on the grill was a doddle, and I also toasted the buns lightly. They tasted great! Just like a barbecued burger! )) Like others have said, the fat is easy to clean up using tin-foil below and there is also a little tray to catch liquid fat.On the downside, one of the things that was putting me off buying this stove was that I read several reviews online that say the grill can warp if you use pans or especially a griddle on the actual grill side! I'm not going to risk it, though it seems some people do. Even if the grill doesn't melt, though, it's made of none-stick teflon, and anything metal will wear this away.It doesn't really matter to me. Two small pans (or one small pan and a small kettle) easily fit onto the single burner (I think this is why it is so wide), though if you're cooking for more than two you'll probably only be able to use one pan at a time. For me this is almost perfect. I probably won't use the grill all the time (it seems to use more gas, so I'll just use it for grilling main meals and making toast -- use toastie bread, it'll work fine), but it is great that it is there. My only other problem -- not a fault of this stove -- is that you can't buy the flat griddle plate in the UK (which would have been nice) and believe me I have searched everywhere for one. They do have them on Amazon in America, and will ship them to the UK, though I'll wait and see if I really need one before shelling out for international shipping.All in all I'm very happy with my purchase. If you do need something a little more, then I've seen Outwell do a similar stove with two burners and a smaller grill. I'm more than happy, though, and can't wait to get camping this year now!UPDATE:Been camping with it now and put it through its paces. Have to say it is great!! It grills things well, but make sure you cut food into strips (about 2cm high) and they will grill very quickly. Done chicken (for curry and with BBQ sauce marinade, burgers and salmon steaks). Lovely! Have also used it several times now BBQ-ing at home and it is so much better than charcoal BBQ's. The taste is very similar (nice and scorched!) and this is so much easier to fire up and clean afterwards. Perfect for a home or campsite BBQ.

Took this camping on my own with my kids. It was great. Can make toast and do bacon on the griddle with aluminium foil underneath to catch the drips etc. Can also put a large saucepan or frying pan on the griddle section so you can still use 2 saucepans if you need to. Very versatile. Only used one gas canister for 3 days away.The way that the gas canister just hovers with no support is a little unnerving - I wish they had designed it a better. I took it off each time I had finished cooking as the canister shouldn't be in direct sunlight, and the joints etc all just felt a bit delicate.If you are nervous about gas leaks you should buy the gas leak detection gel that they mention in the instructions. I didn't use it - the gas won't come on if you haven't got it screwed on properly.

Does exactly what it says on the box

Something this simple shouldn't work, but it does. You unfold it and pop it on a portable stove, where the mesh instantly glows red, and it will toast bread in about 30 seconds per side. Faster than your electric toaster at home, very economical on fuel and the toast is better because it doesn't dry out before it browns. The only problem is how to keep your butter cool in a tent...

Top camping toaster

I laughed at my husband when he bought this item. Yet another useless camping gadget, I thought. We've had the toaster which supposedly does 4 slices but actually only succeeds in curling the bread up so you can't butter it so I was more than a bit sceptical. But I must admit, I have eaten a big slice of humble pie along with countless slices of delicious toast made in super quick time with this Gelert toaster. I've timed it - fab toast at about a minute per slice, including buttering. It tastes great as it is crisp on the outside, soft on the inside. We prefer it to our electric toaster at home. And it's small enough to fit in a small rucksack. Just don't take your eyes off it because this baby toasts so quickly that you might just end up with charcoal! If I could give a prize for a top camping gadget designs, this one would take it, without a doubt.
