great backpacking stove

well what a fantastic little stove! I bought mine for backpacking use, and it fits neatly (minus the plastic box) inside a solo cookset with a 250g gas cart and spork. This pint sized flamethrower has a very fierce flame and will boil water very very quickly. It feels of good quality and has had a few uses with all sorts of pans and full sized kettles. It is fairly strong but I wouldn't want to put massive pans on, probably only upto 2L or so. It folds up very small into the palm of your hand, just a bit bigger than a mobile in size. Overall very good unit and becomes your best friend when in the wild.

Prefect occasional use standby stove.

I wanted a stove to add to the basic winter survival kit which is kept in the boot of the wife's car.The stove will like only ever see a rare use so no need for high quality, expensive stove for this application. I also wished the stove to be fairly safe, easy to assemble, easy to light and practical to use.A Jet-Boil would be great except that it would be a pricey over kill for a rare use application. I carry a JetBoil stove in my landrover full time and it sees regular use and abuse and is well recommended personal cooking system.The Web-tex Warrior Compact Stove is sufficiently fit for my intended purpose.Positives:Cheap and of a quality which is fit for purpose.Uses standard screw thread gas cans of various capacities which are easily obtained from high street camping or DIY stores (same as the jetboil!).Compact, neat and lightweight.Possible negatives (easier to criticise products!):Not a stove for regular daily use as I am not sure it would stand up to sustained abuse I seem to give my gear though it may well last forever if looked after! To be fair I haven't used the stove in a prolonged situation.Not self lighting, needs an ignition source like a box of matches.Like most conventional stoves it needs a separate cooking pot/pan. Carefully choice a pot that the stove and a small gas can fits neatly inside for a compact solution.May be unstable depending on what size gas can is used vs size and weight of cooking pot.Gas is often considered a poor fuel choice for stoves in cold extremes.Not as Gucci as a Jetboil.
